Cedar Fair approached Weber Group in November of 2021 to design and build the thematic overlay of their new attraction, Tumbili, at Kings Dominion. They wanted to have the queue operational by mid-March of 2022 to open the ride to their season pass holders. As Creative Director, I quickly put together a design services estimate and contract to begin sketching ideas, creating concept models, and contracting with outside concept artists to visually develop the narrative provided by Cedar Fair. I worked closely with our Shop Management and estimators to design something that could be built within budget and ready to install in just a few months. I was able to assist remotely with our team on-site as well as being in the field to art direct. We clad the two primary buildings by the March 15th deadline and completed the project to 100% in May, only 6 months from when we were approached.
